If you are a fan of beads and you're based here in Philippines and still don't know where to buy affordable crafting materials, you've clicked the right link LOL..
I was searching for a blog that could actually give me the right advice where to buy cheap beads here in Manila Philippines and I came across Bead Snob I think the author is based in Manila for she really gave me the right answer about my Ten Million Dollar Question. "Where to buy beads in manila?"..
I followed her articles and yes followed her steps. was reading one of her posts published way back 2008 and omg it was the best advice ever written chos! in the article the author adviced to go for Villalobos street in Quiapo.
Villalobos street in Quiapo Manila is the right place to hunt beads They have a lot of shops in there for crafty people, the feeling crafty people, the curious, the business people et all. I was really surprised to find other interesting pieces aside from Beads.. Ok so if you don't know where Villalobos street is first you have to find Quiapo Church Villalobos is just next to it.. I was so scared to go there at first because I have this ugly image of Quiapo in my skull but I swallowed it all. It is very important that you get to the church, once in there just politely ask people around don't be too obvious that you're lost LOL I asked one of the security guards standing ouside a shop and he gave me the right direction. If you are ma-arte you will not survive in there lols aside from the over whelming crowd maloloka ka rin sa vendors ng mga dried fish kelerkey! Keri lang!.
Ok so here's a few of the stuff I got from my unplanned attack.. I was really in panic when I got there... If I was with a friend I could have screamed with joy but since I was alone and tried not to invite attention I almost had a mini heart attack keeping my excitement to myself!.. I also have no plans to buy anything because I did not bring money LOLs I was so scared baka ma hold-up si beki, anyways these are the things.. for less than 200php I got half a kilo of beads these things would keep me busy in the next days.
Check it out I have a long nose pliers for only 25php same with the cutter lols
I want to go in there again maybe this time with a set of plan in my head what to buy and what I really want to do... I am also thinking of making accessories and sell them somewhere.. If you have a fashion accessory business Quiapo is the right place for you to buy materials..

Wow! ituloy talaga ang pagbuburda ba ang tawag?! hahah! I am glad you conquered your fears of going to Quaipo. Ako I love Quaipo, kamiss ang lugar na yan! Hehe
Korak sa takot ko lang pag dating doon na kakahilo ang dami ng people... First friday pa naman dami church goers... but I love the bead shops as in maloka ka lang talaga ganda mag start na kaya akong gumawa ng hikaw chos
Gandz, I went there last year to buy beads. Grabe, nahilo din ako sa dami at sa mura! Hehehe. You should go there on a weekend ng umaga kase hindi pa ganun ka crowded.
Mag gawa ka na rin ng necklaces and earrings =)
Maigass- super-mumur naman ng mga long-nosed pliers at cutters na yan. I looked at online sites at di ko ma-take ang presyo. Mang, if not too much to ask, get me a pliers and a cutter, and throw in na rin some beads for me when you come to Cambo. I'll reimburse you, pramis, basta ipakita kuno ang receipts! LOL. Seriously, it's for my volunteer work at AP. RIght now, we are doing crochet - am teaching former street kids. Next time, beading naman if may ara cheap supplies. hihihi
Hi Z ok I'll do that sis! its really cheap in villalobos maloka ka lang... hahahaha
